When we see powerful black women such as Michele Obama, Oprah Winfrey, and many others, we want to believe that if we work hard enough and make the best possible decisions in life, we can reach the same level of attainment as these women. We want to believe as we see a handful of African-American women that have fallen in some places in their lives, yet managed to achieve prominent status, that the same holds true for all African-American women
