Hollywood execs name Anita Hill to lead anti-harassment effort

Anita Hill, where do we remember that name??? I remember vividly Anita being totally and unapologetically being harrassed by the entire group of US Senators during confirmation hearings for then-federal employee Clarence Thomas for US Supreme Court Justice. You talking about a lynching of a black woman this exhibition was a public disgrace played out on national television, but girlfriend stood and took everything those white men threw at her while Uncle Tom Thomas watched them emasculate her for his benefit. For years Sister Hill faded into the background teaching and living her life knowing that she did what was right with a clear conscious. She became the face of sexual harassment for all women, so today those same men have made it possible to spotlight her past struggle and bring other women humiliation to the forefront:

On Friday, top players came together to form the Commission on Sexual Harassment and Advancing Equality in the Workplace. Anita Hill will chair this commission.

“Following widespread revelations of pervasive sexual harassment and assault in the media and entertainment industries, executives, independent experts and advisors have come together in a unanimous effort to tackle the broad culture of abuse and power disparity,” the group said in a statement.

Hill as a pioneer on the subject. In the early 1990s she came forward to accuse then-U.S. Supreme Court nominee Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment. She said in a statement about the commission that she is “proud” to be leading the “long overdue” effort.

Are they serious about sexual harassment?? only time will tell but you can bet Sister Hill won’t let they get away with a whitewash. Let’s all keep an eye on what transpires today and into 2018, hopeful this female black face won’t take the same role as our black female face for the Oscars.
