These Are the 20 Best Hospitals in the U.S.
When people think of the best medical facility in the U.S. — if not the world — one institution typically comes to mind: the Mayo Clinic.
That reputation for excellence is well-deserved, according to U.S. News & World Report’s latest Best Hospitals rankings. The publication says the Rochester, Minnesota-based facility is the best hospital in the nation. This year’s rankings — the 30th that U.S. News has released — spans 25 adult specialties, procedures and conditions. U.S. News says it evaluated nearly every community hospital in the nation. According to the publication:
Of the hospitals included in U.S. News’ analysis, 20 made what the publication calls its “Honor Roll.” U.S. News says the following hospitals deliver “exceptional treatment across multiple areas of care”:
- Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota
- Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston
- Johns Hopkins Hospital, Baltimore
- Cleveland Clinic
- New York-Presbyterian Hospital, New York City
- UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles
- UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco
- Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles
- NYU Langone Hospitals, New York City
- Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago
- University of Michigan Hospitals-Michigan Medicine, Ann Arbor, Michigan
- Stanford Health Care-Stanford Hospital, Palo Alto, California
- Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston
- Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City
- UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside, Pittsburgh
